Description

Cetearyl alcohol 50:50 is a white, waxy blend of cetyl (C16) and stearyl (C18) fatty alcohols, from RSPO Mass Balance palm oil. It is one of the most widely used thickeners in cosmetics.

It gives creams and lotions body and a soft, dry, slightly waxy skin feel, and helps stabilise emulsions as a co-emulsifier.

Storage: Do not handle in a confined space. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area. Keep the container tightly closed. Keep away from sources of ignition. Must only be kept in original packaging.

Formulation Guide

For the formulation of classic O/W emulsion, we recommend a combination of cetearyl alcohol with glyceryl stearate.
Further manufacturing conditions correspond to
the principles of common processing for O/W
emulsions.

We recommended melting cetearyl alcohol together with the oil phase at around 70°C.
