Description

PolyAquol™ VO4 from Innovacos is a liquid, PEG-free water-in-oil emulsifier made from natural-origin polyglyceryl esters. It makes stable W/O emulsions by cold process, holding up to 80% water inside an oil phase that can be 100% vegetable oils. The result is a comfortable, water-resistant cream without the heavy, greasy feel of traditional W/O systems.

It also works as a dispersing agent for pigments and mineral UV filters, which makes it a strong choice for sun care, BB and CC creams and tinted products. It is approved for COSMOS formulations.

How to Use

• Typical use level 2–6% in emulsions; 1–20% in anhydrous products; 0.1–2% as a pigment dispersant
• Add to the oil phase, then add the water phase slowly with strong stirring
• Homogenise the pre-emulsion; keep both phases at about the same temperature
• No heating needed if your oil phase is liquid
