Description

N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) is an amino sugar made by fermentation. It is a building block of hyaluronic acid and is used in skin care as a moisturising active.

NAG helps skin feel hydrated and supports its natural renewal, for a smoother-looking surface. Paired with niacinamide, it helps visibly reduce dark spots and uneven tone.

Formulation Guide

Recommended Usage Rate 

  • 1 - 4%, up to 10%

Processing

  • Dissolve in water and add to batch below 50°C. It is soluble at up to 25%, although only solutions below 10% will remain clear and colourless.
  • The pH of the formulation should be in the range of 3-7.
