Description

Montanov™ 202 is a 100% natural-origin, PEG-free O/W emulsifier from SEPPIC, based on fatty alcohols and a sugar-derived glucoside. It forms liquid crystal structures around the oil droplets that mimic the skin's own lipid layers, giving stable emulsions with a light, non-greasy feel and long-lasting moisturisation.

It makes everything from fluid lotions to thick creams, produces very white emulsions, and works well with the pigments and powders used in tinted creams and foundations. It is approved for COSMOS and NATRUE formulations.

How to Use

• Typical use level 2–5%; as a guide, use about a quarter of your oil phase (e.g. 3% for 12% oils)
• Add to the oil phase and heat to 75–80°C, then emulsify into the heated water phase
• For a richer cream, add around 1% cetyl alcohol to the oil phase rather than more emulsifier
