Description

Pemulen™ EZ-4U is a fast-dispersing polymeric emulsifier. It forms stable emulsions without surfactants or HLB calculations, at very low use levels, by hot or cold process.

It can emulsify up to 50% oil, works from pH 4 to 9, and gives textures from glossy creams to sprayable lotions with a light, fresh feel. Because it needs no surfactant, it suits water-resistant and sensitive-skin products.

How to Use

  • Disperse into the water or oil phase

Formulation Guide

Recommended Use level:  0.05 – 0.4 wt%

  • To further improve the system stability and reduce the oil droplet size, the addition of 0.1 - 1.0 wt% of nonionic co-emulsifiers with medium to high HLB value, anionic co-emulsifiers or non-PEG-modified surfactants are suggested.
  • Typical examples include fatty alcohols, sucrose stearate, stearic acid, or coco-glucoside can be used.
  • When use alone, Pemulen™ EZ-4U polymer provides good emulsion stability with a gel-cream appearance, but the addition of a co-emulsifier enables the adjustment of the droplet size,
    resulting in a whiter, more stable product.
